Grant Butte Reservoir Demolition Update
As reported previously, we have decided that it is time to remove the Grant Butte reservoir that we own. The neighborhood near Grant Butte reservoir has experienced more frequent transient camps and other problems around the reservoir site. The reservoir was built in the 1960's and because of design errors was never used. Due to the steep hillside, it has taken longer to design the proper removal of the reservoir. Our engineers are currently finishing the design of the demolition and fill of the area. The current plans include a trail and landscaping that is not conducive to camping. We still hope to remove the structure by the end of September and will provide more direct information to the nearby neighborhood as plans are completed. If you have any questions about the project, please call District Manager Harvey Barnes at 503-665-4179 or email districtmanager@rwpud.org.

141st Avenue Pump Station and Reservoir Project Update
Rockwood Water PUD owns a reservoir and pump station located on NE 141st Avenue that was built in the 1960's. The pump station no longer meets the summer demands of the area and only has one pump. In addition, when built, the reservoir was not designed to withstand earthquake activity. We are currently designing a new pump station for the site that will meet flow demands for many years in the future. The project will also include some updates to the reservoir. We expect to have the design completed by September and construction will begin in October after the busy summer season. The new pump station will provide adequate fire flow as well. The facility will also have an auxiliary power supply on site in case we lose line power in the area. We will provide the surrounding neighborhood with more detailed information about the project as it becomes available.
